2nd Try in China?

does anybody know if the app will work in china? long shot question and honestly i doubt it does but im going on a 3 week trip to the mainland and i really want to get my try guys fix while im there :head_shaking_vertically:

EDIT: it works with a vpn! currently watching eugene’s revenge right now

vpn all day, most hotels or rental places even offer a complimentary VPN :skull:

Usually a VPN can help

If it doesn’t, get a VPN. Then you should be able to switch which country you’re appearing from and access locked content.

You can almost guarantee no western social media or entertainment type app will have access from China. Also FYI it is ostensibly illegal for a Chinese citizen to use a VPN to circumvent the Great Firewall, and therefore a definite grey area for a foreigner.

Stay safe!

im staying with my family but ill keep that in mind thank you!

As long as OP isn’t a diplomat or something, this isn’t really necessary.

the chinese government isn’t gonna take a regular person’s phone and install apps on it to spy on them, that’s a weird xenophobic myth.

im literally chinese & have been to china before and i could not care less abt that im sorry :sob: ive been fine b4 and ill probs be fine on my trip there

Illegal but extremely common and literally 0 regulation unless you are doing illicit activities on VPN. The average western educated Chinese national has access to VPN.

I downloaded “VPN-Super Unlimited Proxy” on my iPhone while I was in China and it worked well.

My recommendation is download and set up the VPN before you leave as I had trouble setting it up with Chinese WiFi.

For sure, but I would absolutely not want to risk being caught as a foreigner and have to deal with the CCP judicial system. Especially with the escalating anti-american/foreigner sentiment that is rampant right now…

I get it, I have dual nationality and have struggled with returning “home” and risking losing my rights as a citizen of a western country among political turmoil and uncertainty. However, there are so many great things in China and it really was worth the added struggle of accessing western media.

Honestly, I can’t imagine intentionally choosing to be insensitive to people I do not know that face certain struggles I cannot understand due to the simple fact that I have never had to face them personally, but to each their own.
