Hi, when Adguard is activated, there is a permanent VPN key icon on the notification bar: https://imgur.com/a/G1IHUAv
This is annoying as the notification bar is already cluttered. How to hide this useless key icon? Regards

Some phone ROM has the ability to hide it, depending on your ROM.
i can hide it, OnePlus 10 Pro here.
You can’t. It’s the standard vpn notification.
I’ve never found a way
pretty sure this happen on every android
The issue is that with Adguard constantly running, this icon has lost its initial use, so it would be nice to have it hidden.
After hours of testing and research, I have just found how to hide this useless VPN key icon on my S20 phone
You have to use Good Lock ! I preparing a post to tell you exactly how to do that on your phone as lots of you express the wish too to hide that useless icon
Interesting. There is an option to hide it on iOS. There might be the same on Android too, not sure. But here is what it looks like on iOS: https://i.imgur.com/8TAgDl4.png
It’s possible if you own Oneplus device.
get root. move from user certs folder to root cert folder for system.
Can do this easily on Samsung using using Good Lock and Quick Star. No root
Here is how you can remove this useless VPN icon from any Samsung Galaxy phones:
I hope these detailed instructions help you hide this useless vpn key icon from your Samsung Galaxy phones!
PS: Reddit did not allow inserting images, which would have been very helpful. I had to use imgur image storage to bypass this limitation.
So if you have the vpn key it does it mean you are actually usually vpn? Or its just something that just pops up automatically
I have Oneplus 8T and can’t hide it…
How can I do it?
I’d like to add that for non-Samsung Android phones you can use System UI Tuner: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You just need to give it extra permissions via ADB.
Thank you for this!
damn, thank you

Did you see something about on the S20? In the Motorola with Android 12 that I have it is already enabled but in my samsung not yet.
Settings/notifications&status bar/statusbar/statusbar icons
Used this method today. Worked.
“SystemUI Tuner” + a few commands in ADB and your problem is solved.
I have not yet seen this on my S20
