Any point paying for VPN's anymore?

Considering I literally only use my VPN to watch US Netflix while in the UK, due to the fact that Netflix is clearly trying their damned best to make sure this doesn’t work anymore is there any point renewing my subscription? Or does this kind of thing happen often and will eventually be fixed? I don’t want to pay for another month just to have it not work whatsoever tomorrow and that just be the case forever because Netflix blocked them for good.

Also, any particular VPN’s that work the best with Netflix currently? I’ve been using ExpressVPN but with how hard they are making it to use with Netflix now and the whole controversy with Express might be time to move on to another option.

Hello there.

The whole situation is quite uncertain. I use nord and it’s been completely eradicated from the netflix spectrum. If I am lucky enough to connect to a working server I still have to change the servers 3-4 times during one single episode which ruins the whole experience.

I would also like to know which vpns are working for netflix US at the moment. Please let me know. Thank you.

Yeah, I gave up on Netflix, as my country has a shit selection. Their loss.

Strong VPN has been 100%
Tom Spark just reviewed Hide.Me VPN and said it worked great too…

nordVPN works but you need to find the working server which takes me ant 3-4 tries but after that i can watch whatever i want for sometime

ExpressVPN is completely useless for me too… very rarely works. I talked to their support and instead of trying to help or assuring me they are working on fixing the issue, the support guy told me that no one else reported that their UK servers not working (basically trying to fool me into thinking that this is an issue on my end and not their end)… yeah right…

bye bye Express!

I use PrivateVPN for US Netflix and it works most of the time. I go back and forth between using the VPN and WireGuard with a configuration they send me a while back, using when one doesn’t work the other does.

Wevpn works perfectly in that servers , try it

Try using smartdns. Works well for me. Using it in apple 4k tv.

You could always just set up your own VPN on a VPS ($3.50 tier lightsail worked well for me). Then you’ll have your own dedicated ip (so no need to switch servers) and be able to save some cash in the process.

Nord works for JP & US, though you need try several times to connect the right server. = =

Which Provider do you use for SmartDNS?

Can you still switch countries that way ? Like what’s the differences

You’ll be running your own VPN server in the US with its own US IP address. It’s the equivalent of having a dedicated IP server with a VPN provider like Nord. Only you will use that IP address, so it won’t be blocked from Netflix and you won’t have to change servers repeatedly.

From what you said, I assumed you only want to connect to the US, so you would just need one server in the US. The only way you could change to other countries would be to spin up new VPN servers in those other countries - if this is the case, you’re better off with a regular VPN service.

I should also point out that you’d lack the (alleged) privacy claims of regular VPN providers.

Ah thanks for the explaination ^^
I’m in germany and like to switch between US , JP and others depending on what their Netfilx has…
I just cancelled my ExpressVPN subscription and all the new articles on vpns that work are just lying so I’m a lil lost on what to do.

Ok - it makes more sense for you to get a VPN service. NordVPN seems to work alright for me, but they do have questionable marketing and the process of deleting your account with them is (deliberately?) confusing. You could try a month of Mullvad (they’re probably one of the most ethical VPN providers) to see if it works for you. You can buy a month of Mullvad with no auto-renewal.
