NordVPN on Apple TV connected to OpenVPN on Synology server - anyone got it working ?
I’ve never seen a commercial VPN app let you connect to any server, only their servers. Maybe there’s an exception out there, but I doubt this will be the case for NordVPN on AppleTV.
Goodness. What does “working” mean in this situation?
Sounds like your use case can be accomplished using Tailscale on AppleTV, per this YT video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8XoZYJcFtI
There has been a few posts about NordVPN connecting to OpenVPN servers on iPhones - so it is possible just not sure if supported on Apple TV
A Secure connection between an Apple TV and a synology server running OpenVPN - as in a remotely connected Apple TV is seen to be in the location of the synology server
Thanks - will give it a try
Did these few posts start with “I heard…” or “someone told me…” ?
Pretty sure that NordVPN will only let you connect to NordVPN servers.
I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out what you mean when you say you want a “remotely connected Apple TV is seen to be in the location of the synology server” and why, but it sounds like what you need is your own VPN server and client. You do know the difference between a server and client, right?
The posts specifically referred to NordVPN connecting to an OpenVPN server but not on Apple TV as the app didn’t exist.
Yes I know what a VPN is, I use it to connect to my home so I can watch US TV while abroad - would be nice to do this on my Apple TV
The posts specifically referred to NordVPN connecting to an OpenVPN server
… an OpenVPN server that belongs to NordVPN.
Yes I know what a VPN is,
The question was do you know the difference between a server and a client. Both are part of every VPN. Not trying to be a smart ass, just trying to establish some basic facts.
They were not nord OpenVPN servers and yes I know the diff between a client and a server
