Can you use an alternative to Azure VPN Client that is downloaded from the MS Store?
I have an Azure VPN Gateway that is set up with a tunnel OpenVPN (SSL) and authentication of Azure Active Directory. This is currently functioning for users that can download and have access to Azure VPN Client on Windows 10 machines. For those that do not have access to the MS Store is there an alternative that can be used? We were hoping not to go certificate-based or have to install something like an OpenVPN server since we are entirely cloud. Documentation on this setup is sparse or non-existent.
Any assistance or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t think you can use anything else if you want Azure AD Auth.
Ugh, yeah its seems the lack of documentation on this topic is kind of an indirect way of saying it’s not possible. Was hoping to find some language around this via documentation though to tell me specifically.
It’s pretty direct here.
“Azure AD authentication allows users to connect to Azure using their Azure Active Directory credentials. Native Azure AD authentication is only supported for OpenVPN protocol and Windows 10 and requires the use of the Azure VPN Client.”

Thank you. Also found this chart yesterday evening that gives a pretty good chart of the compatibilities. Thank you again for finding additional information.
