BBC iPlayer Stopped working

I have been reliably using PIA to use the BBC iPlayer via a browser. I use the UK London Streaming server. Today it stopped working. I tried a different browser and different server with no luck.

That’s a bummer, that’s a main reason I use PIA. Hopefully they get it updated.

Using the Android version tonight with my TiVo 4K streamer. BBC worked just fine

Had the same problem last week and just gave up, though i haven’t tried it recently. It works just fine on my smartphone but not on my computer for some reason. It’s happened before and they usually get it it fixed in a week or two (or three).

I have experienced something like you and other user here. It is working without any problem. You have probably connected withoun VPN and cookies are causing problems. I have solved it on two iPhones last 24 hours. The final solution will be shorter, but I bet you will have no problems after you close all browser tabs, shutdown browser, connect to UK VPN and go to IPlayer web.

If this wont be enough, activate airplane mode, connect again and/or, delete all BBC cokies and then, connected to VPN, go to iPlayer web.

Let me know, if it helped you.

I’m interested in whether any solutions were found or if any progress was made in understanding this.

Today I experimented with obfuscation to try and get iPlayer to work even through a VPN. Strangely, most of the channels worked, but News did not. I don’t understand this at all, unless there’s some weakness in PIA’s spoofing technique that BBC has only defended the News channel against.

I always have 2 vpns incase somit goes wrong as there ain’t many you can actually rely on.pia speed is up and down like a yo yo and disconnecting a lot .I won’t be renewing pia .then nxt Yr ss will play up ,there all in it together, money :money_bag: is all that matters to these guy’s.

They will but then somit else pops up ,I wish they would fix disconnecting .I got a letter because I didn’t know pia had disconnected on its own.when y use certain torrents,it disconnects…

I discovered it works on my iPad :innocent:

I have recently bought an iPad Pro with USB-C on it, and I bought a USB-C–>HDMI cable and watch on my TV via the iPad. Casting doesn’t often work with a VPN in the middle hence the cable method. I can report that using a PIA+Browser (not app), I can watch the BBC iPlayer.
