What is the best ad blocking solution om rooted device?
I have seen two magisk modules: 1) Malwack anti malware ad blocker,
2)adguard dns magisk module.
Which one should I use? Which one is better? Can I use two of them?

This solution works for any Android phone, needs no root.
Edit: Just realized that this solution is slowing down apps like Reddit a lot for some reason. And also a lot of websites. I thought it was my ISP but turns out it was Adguard that was slow. Looks like their servers aren’t able to handle the load or apps/websites are misbehaving with this DNS in particular. Time to check for some other solution!
NextDNS app does it for me.
I’m happy with Adaway, tbh.
AdGuard on Android is your go-to for zapping ads without rooting your device. It cleverly uses VPN or HTTP proxy tech to scrub ads from both apps and websites. Even encrypts and decrypts HTTPS traffic with its own cert to keep ads in check while maintaining your privacy.
It’s pitched as a data and battery saver, since it stops ads from downloading in the first place. Don’t sweat if Android accuses it of being a battery hog—it’s all because it processes all your web traffic.
Since Google Play’s a no-show for ad blockers, sideloading from AdGuard’s own site is the way to go. Just a heads-up, toggle that ‘install from unknown sources’ option in your device settings. This tool’s crammed with features like firewall, DNS privacy settings, ad and tracker blocking, plus it ditches annoying web pop-ups and keeps you off the naughty list of internet sites.
While the freebie version covers basics, leveling up to premium gets you comprehensive ad blocking across all apps, customizable DNS for the privacy-conscious, and upgraded tracking protection. There’s a trial to test the waters with these premium perks. Plus, not in the original but worth noting, AdGuard has a solid rep for customer support and regular updates, ensuring it stays effective against new ad strategies and threats.
Proton VPN has an ad/malware filter that seems to block ads not only in browsers but in apps too, works a treat. Not pushing Proton, just the only VPN that does this that I have experience with.
How come no one has talked about Rethink DNS
You can select the tracker you want and can Block whole apps from accessing internet
Try one of these
This doesn’t work on my phone.
No need to root bud.
Opera. I’m sorry, but it blocks ads except it has its own. Not major tho, better than ads blocking the whole website.
SmartTube. Wonders, even works on phone.
Well I use Adaway it blocks any ads in both browser and In Games/apps and works fine! And can be turned off and on anytime unlike a magisk module which generally requires a reboot of the device.
netguard works for me to use some apps offline - its perfect
like a combo of playing real cricket 24 offline to avoid ads while listening to some podcast on newpipe (youtube fork in fdroid)
Worked perfectly! Ty!
found any other solution ?
Does it block ads in apps? Does it block ads on websites too?
I use vpn. I think it is not possible to run vpn and adguard at the same time. Am I right?
Then I need to pay monthly payment for sim card?
It doesn’t block ads, but it works well for third party trackers nonetheless.
privacy badger is pointless if you use ublock and enable tracking protection in firefox (its on by default now)
