I would avoid this company like the plague. I saw all the horror stories about cancelling auto-renewal so I followed all the advice, which requires you to continue selecting “cancel auto renewal” at least 3 times until you get the confirmation. Yet I was charged for another month, checked my account and auto-renewal is still on. So I talked to someone in chat until they agreed to cancel my account and request deletion of my credit card information-fyi, they hold onto your credit card info unless you request deletion. I’m going to continue to follow up to be sure it was deleted this time, but this is the worst scam company I’ve ever used-and any lawyers out there should look into a class action lawsuit because there are a lot of us out there who have been charged for a service that we cancelled.
Report them to your bank and your State’s Attorneys General. This is fraud IMO.
Use a prepaid card with just right amount on it so they can’t charge you again or pay with PayPal like I do and cancel automatic payments through PayPal
Oh man, I heard about this from several people. Let us know how it goes and if the chat action was the actual way to go. Quite disappointing, this sort of behaviour.
That’s why I use virtual cards. Anytime I cancel subscriptions, I also close virtual card so that there is zero chance for scummy companies to charge me.
Aside from this issue, what leads you to believe the company is “the worst scam company”? Legitimate question!
I know this is going to be an unpopular comment but it sounds like an accident tbh. The same issue has happened to me too. ExpressVPN were apologetic and more than happy to give my money back. They also offered a few extra months free of charge if I decided to resubscribe.
I never get this issue with them for now I always diseable autorenew and i activat it when sub finish and i need to renew it
Where to now? Who’s the replacement? Looking to cancel express as well.
I just found out that my subscription was never cancelled even though I tried several times over the past year and a half.
Apparently there is a possible lawsuit in the works against them for this: Investigations — WMP Law
I have written to them about joining.
Well which other company do you know that you need to hit the cancel auto renewal button 4-5 times for it to actually take effect ?
It’s happened far too often for it to be considered an accident, imo. This happened to me and so many others here. Even if it was an accident, they should have resolved the issue by now.
Is the vpn really good cause i intend to use it for iptv?
They’re not very good ethically. The have a forced subscription strategy
I said aside from this issue. I’m not trying to be antagonistic. This is a legitimate question. I’m assuming this is the main and only issue you have with them then.
Express vpn are amazing. Not had any issue with them
Don’t you think it’s scammy if someone requires you to jump through that many hoops to cancel their product? It’s not an accident that you need to click 4-5 times.
