Thanks for the reply. Good to know. I was missing the “-t” and will try that. (But I am busy for a few days and won’t have time for a while.) Also, there are some funny things going on the the AX3000 which lead me to have to start from scratch frequently, erasing all data. It is working now as a wifi repeater so I don’t want to rock the boat till I have time to play with it.
Nope. carppy Fi coverage in Italy and Slovenia. I had to switch to Mint mobile during a trip cause my partner was getting way better coverage.
Nope, Fi dropped US Cellular last year
Definitely not anymore – and one of my biggest disappointments with FI as in my home area I was frequently on USC.
Could be T-Mobiles fault some of them time, but it definetly is Google’s fault as well.
A couple of years ago there was about two months where you could not receive many SMSes that have short links in them (including youtu.be and goo.gl). My understanding is it was Google’s internal messaging backend marking them as spam and not forwarding them on.
Still enjoying mint? Really thinking about switching with their holiday deal-- im on google fi flex and approaching 3GB is like $60 lol
Mints offering me 5GB for $10 a month
Only thing that worries me is the talks of lower data prioritization? But if it’s all tmobile now than it really shouldn’t matter or change much yes?
good luck, if not, message me and we can compare all the other settings
The article reads that you can use US Mobile towers if no TMobile. What has been your experience?
Yep, still pretty happy with my service. I’m honestly not really sure how much (if any) of my data usage is deprioritized. It’s been a while since I’ve used Google Fi, but I don’t recall it being significantly faster. They might still do the short term trials for the service, maybe give that a go if data speeds are a concern.
Got it working. Had bad SIM.
That it seems to be stickier to TMobile even with poor signals, rather than switching to USC, I used to use Signal Spy to force over to USC somewhat often to help with that. (Just tried it, and it doesn’t look like the dialer code works.)
It’s not awful, I’m still on fi - but I’d prefer USC still has first party status.
