Hello everyone,
I typically have no trouble using ControlD to stream movies and series on Paramount+ USA, but I’ve been encountering inconsistent issues when trying to stream live sports, particularly Serie A matches.
Occasionally, I receive a “You are using a VPN” error message, even though my ControlD setup hasn’t changed and continues to work perfectly with non-live content.
Additionally, I’m aware that Paramount+ can be finicky with advertisements—I’ve had to whitelist *.googlevideo.com
in my ControlD custom rules to get some streams to start.
However, this “VPN” detection issue when using ControlD seems to be a separate problem altogether.
I’d really appreciate any insights or advice from other ControlD users who might be facing the same problem.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues while streaming live sports on Paramount+ USA with ControlD? If so, how have you managed to resolve them?
Thanks in advance!
I have no issues streaming Paramount+. I use ControlD.
Same here.
I’m having issues with my Android TV.
New York server works perfectly fine on Samsung TV, i’ll try New York on my Android TV.
I hope to enjoy my Napoli game tomorrow
Hi, it’s something you cannot resolve. They know those public IPs are from Windscribe-ControlD and they block them.
Hi u/Alternative-Way-3325,
can you confirm that you can watch US Paramount+ sport streams from outside the US with ControlD active? What city are you redirecting the US Paramount+ service to?
Thanks
I did a test last week with Windscribe, and paramount sport streams seemed to work. I have to confirm this though because as I said the problem is intermittent for me.
Confirmed. I am based in South Africa. I use New York severs. No issues with Paramount+ and others - Sling, Peacock, etc. Never had.
Live TV is ok, but if you want to see a single sport event, i.e. a soccer match, that is blocked.
Thanks. May I ask you what live sport streams you usually watch on paramount+ US so that I can test them with my configuration as well?
English Premier League and Serie A mainly. I have no appetite for the
Kind of sport played in the US.
Live Serie A streams are the ones I am having issues with from Italy…
Did you add any custom rules recently? If so, can you post them?
TNX.
No. No custom rules. Straight out of the box.
Hey, have you been able to sort it out?
Not at all. Lately even NordVPN has been having troubles with Seria A live streams. This only affects these streams, as others seem to work fine. Anyway, the problem with CtrlD is intermittent even for Seria A. When I have time I will collect the logs and send them to ControlD help desk.
Damn, that’s unfortunate. Thanks for letting me know anyway; I’ll keep exploring different options.
please post your solution here if you find any. Currently, TorGuard VPN with a US streaming IP is working fine for me to watch Serie A on Paramount+ US, but in my experience things can always change in the long run.
OK I’ll let you know if I end up trying something. I was about to subscribe to Paramount+ US for Serie A last week, but then I saw all the posts and comments like yours about VPNs now being blocked so I reconsidered for now. I’ll try to see what the situation is like this coming weekend with the league resumes.
Other alternatives I’ve heard of are other streaming broadcasters like Megogo (Ukrainian) and gxr.world which is apparently showing matches for free in India, and both working with VPNs. Or of course IPTVs but those also come with their own issues.
In the past I had a streaming service from east (can’t remember the name, maybe setanta?) but the picture quality was rather poor (slow FPS and such), while paramount plus is perfect, the price is very low and they even have an Italian audio comment next to the american one… Thanks about the indian option, I did not know about it. you may already know this list (scroll down): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Serie_A_broadcasters
