When is this feature going to be added?
Hi, thanks for the question. Dedicated IP is definitely planned for Android TV, however, there is no ETA yet.
There’s a workaround (or 2) if you like to break things.
Option 1: In the Surfshark app on Google TV, go to Settings > App settings > click multiple times on the “App version” until it asks if you want to switch modes. The app will transform into the Android version. It’s best to download and pair the Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse app on your phone for easier app navigation on Google TV (or use any Bluetooth mouse). Then you can choose your dedicated IP and set it as your Quick-connect. Afterward, go back to App settings and click on App version several times until it switches back to TV mode. Just don’t click a different IP or you’ll probably need to switch modes again.
Option 2: Download the Wireguard app (or other VPN protocol) and a file browser app onto Google TV, then download and install the config file from your Surfshark account.
Happy streaming
I’ve been wondering this same question. My Surfshark subscription will end in a couple months, and my renewal decision hinges on if the Android TV app gets Dedicated IP capability or not.
