Does it REALLY stop ISP from seeing tors?

I know that this has been asked around probably about 100 times but usually half the responses are a paragraph explaining hot it kinda sorta of pretty much definitely is, and the other half are paragraphs basically leaning toward saying that it technically should block your ISP form seeing things downloaded through Utorrent (or any other torrent app,) but then going on to explain how you still need a REAL PAID FOR VPN. I agree if you are doing more then just downloading a movie still in theatres or updating your music library a full complete paid for VPN is the best option, so you don’t have you ISP or any LE agencies upset with you,

Really i just wanted a definitive answer as to if anyone knows for sure (preferably from experience ) If i use Utorrent/Bittorent (Or any other torrent app) to regularly downloaded movies while warp is activated Will my ISP be sending me a sweet little love letter threatening to turn my shit off and sue or press charges. Basically will they know downloading movies if warp is activated or am i good?

I’ve seen person reply to one of the posts on here i completely agree with and explains my situation 100%. Most people just want to activate warp, download the torrent (Movie, music album, software ETC), deactivate warp and they go about there day. They don’t want to go through to hassle of paying for and downloading a VPN, setting it up, activating and dealing with all that shit just to download a few movies, then go through the process of shutting it down.

So without the back and forth paragraphs arguing (Yes, Probably/maybe, No.) Does anyone know (Actually have experience) As to if activating Warp does in fact block my ISP from seeing my IP download torrents? Or will i be getting another lovely letter from my ISP saying my internet is down for 72 hours (before reinstating it I need to prove i"ve deleted such and such movies.) If i am caught doing this again my service will be terminated and they can and will go after me in civil court for the monetary loss and criminal court if possible for pirating movies. (Yes, i received one of these certified letters when i first signed up for this ISP thru my cable company like 8 years ago, They almost discontinued my service since i was a new customer) This was probably 8 years ago.

(and for those of you crying because i scared you by “yelling” thru half my original post, Please stop pouting. )

Warp will hide all traffic from your ISP. You’re misunderstanding what others are saying about hiding identity. They’re talking about previous policies where Warp reveals your true IP to site operators, which doesn’t happen anymore. Yes, you can torrent on Warp without any issues.

Well, that is actually a really simple question to answer. Yes. Running your torrents through warp will obscure you from your ISP. And it does that quite well. So they won’t be cutting you off. Cloudflare though…that is a different thing, because that is a violation of their TOS and they will absolutely cut you off and probably do worse if they get a DMCA notice for that. So let’s not do that. Because that ruins a good thing for everyone, and that’s the kind of shit that gets their product managers to reconsider their free program for everyone to enjoy.

Why are you yelling?

Warp will block your isp from seeing your activity, but it doesn’t mask your ip. So if some studio or legal entity is on the torrent networks and your client connects to them or they to you (seeding) then they will probably contact your isp.

A vpn would hide your ip as well as the traffic.

If you want to do something like this it’s not wise to use the service of big corp like Cloudflare. Because if they get sued for what you are doing they will chase you because the damage it can cause them is very big. Buy a DMCA ignored or the so called bullet proof VPS for like $50 to $60 and selfhost a wire guard or OpenVPN server on it and use that VPN

Hey, i just had a question. If a copyright claim is sent to them for torrenting, won’t they redirect it to you? Or will they just ignore it?

Yeah, That was my bad. i looked at my taskbar and saw cloudflare running and for some reason thought cloudflare was the parent company of warp. i wouldn’t be pirating shit to a cloud. i just mean does warp mask your ip from your isp

Warp does hide your ip now

Warp changes your IP. So if Cloudflare logs WARP, then you’re not safe with torrenting on WARP.

Except for the times where the ISP does care. Many are also cable TV providers, and can get just as anal about it as Disney or Sony would.

First off, thank you for being condescending, seeing as i wasn’t to you. Second, I understand that teenagers and some others believe every time someone uses caps they are yelling, some adults as well as others can understand that there is in fact no sound so in fact no actual yelling and maybe i was trying to use caps to point out the part i wanted focused on most. Also thank you for trying to correct me, since my question was clearly about the specifics of how or why isp sent me a letter years ago. But sadly you are mistake, (read my response the next post if your unsure how) Last and most important thank you for most definitely not answering the question i asked. which was sorry to yell but it seems as if some may be hard of hearing but WITH WARP ON WILL MY ISP BE SENDING ME ONE OF THOSE LOVE NOTES?

lol oh well in that case OH NO, WHATEVER WILL I DO WITHOUT HELP FROM GOOD OLD CYBVERJEW

Thank you, I will do that. Less of a hassle and likely causing problems. to everyone else that bitched me out, see how much easier it is getting someone to stop doing something when you ask them nicely and treat them with respect. A lot more simple than calling names and making threats

Saw you also replied to my other comment. But yes, they won’t forward it to you. You can simply download and use Warp. There’s no signup process for basic usage.

thank you for you help and simple direct answer, that unlike the first guy was not condescending

Nice. Good to know. I haven’t had a need to try that out. By default or is it a new setting?

THANK YOU. Which is what i have, a cable provider that i get internet thru, who most definitely did care. Because according to the letter it was a warning from them and it came so quick after the downloaded file for me to be very sure it didn’t have enough time for hollywood or disney or anybody else to notice me and then send a warning to my isp, sorry cable provider that i get internet thru, and then my cable tv provider to mail a warning to me. seems as if that would take some time. Probably at least a week. and it was certified, i had to go the post office to pick up. i downloaded the movie and within 2 maybe 3 days i had a notification there was a certified letter at the post office i had to pick up. That’s a little too quick even for hollywood

Oh sorry i didn’t even check it was the same person :sob:. Just wanted to ask around to confirm. Even if there’s no signup, don’t they still receive your IP, so they can just forward it to you anyway?

No problem  Warp and Cloudflare are the same thing, but Cloudflare has a strict policy of complying with local laws (as they deem reasonable), and they will work with law enforcement over piracy because that greatly degrades their network. Enjoy the products, they are very cool. But do be that that is against the TOS.

They won’t be forwarding you any notices. Lots of technical reasons why, including the need to match exact traffic with your originating IP while tons of people are using the same VPN. They collect limited traffic metadata that doesn’t contain contents or payload, which is also automatically deleted after 24 hours.
