So…
I managed to install DQX using Lutris. Took a while but worked like a charm.
Added DQboot.exe to Steam.
Set up a VPN (download .ovpn from OpenVPN website, copy-paste local file location, open Kommand and type : sudo nmcli connection import type openvpn file [filepath], then you can just connect to your VPN via the WiFi icon)
The game works like a charm
BUT
I just can’t seem to get neither AHKmom nor DQclarity working on Linux. DQClarity shuts on as soon as I launch it after setting my API and all, and AHKmon… Well, this is what it looks like. I did manage to find where I was supposed to add my DeepL API key, but I’m not sure about the rest. Script does run in the background but once in game, it doesn’t work.
Does anybody know any workaround please?
Or could somebody share a couple pics of AHKmon so I know where I’m clicking?
Thanks!

I got DQX with translation tools working on steam deck by dual booting into Windows and setting it up like you would on a normal computer. Then just run it through steam so the controller works
So atleast DQXClarity requires certain Windows APIs to call on that linux, and by extension proton, doesn’t have. If you want the complete translated experience on steam deck natively its either writing your own code or running windows
If you don’t mind streaming the game, you can use moonlight on your steam deck to remote on your PC and then play it that way. It’s the simplest and honestly you hardly notice the fact you’re streaming it works like a charm.
That said I do hope a resolution for the translation does come around, would love to play this game natively on my steam deck
I got the rom working on ryujinx emulator, but only played the first area for a little. Experienced one hard crash which was kinda annoying, but otherwise seems to be working.

Hope in future stuff like this gets fixed in linux. Playing games works fine, but everything goes to shit once you try modding games.
It doesn’t work on steam deck unless you dual boot windows
how do y’all even get Dragon Quest X? it’s region locked on Steam and I can’t find any way to obtain it in the US. Can’t use a VPN 'cuz my ISP gets real mad bout that shit.
Bookmarking for later, I’d be interested in this.
I have a 64gb steam deck. Ain’t gonna swap my SSD because I’m as poor as I am lazy, ain’t gonna install windows on a Micro SD for I am no psychopath.
I’m trying to run the game + translation full stock.
Stream the game from… what? I don’t have a gaming pc. Not to mention this sounds stupidly expensive electricity-wise, no to mention not eco-friendly.
As I said, I got the actual PC game working just fine on Deck, on Linux. I’m looking for live translation options on Linux.
Sorry for the old comment reply: Are you saying you got DQX Online working with Clarity on Mac by changing those values in regedit?
Why wouldn’t the live translation work at all?
I downloaded the JP game directly from the DQX website.
I pretty much gave up for now. I tried three Windows live translators and none of them worked. It doesn’t exist for Linux at all. I’m at a loss.
