Error code when accessing Netflix, why?

So i tried to access Netflix connected to NordVPN. According to NordVPN, i am connected in USA. Thats because i want to access the american Netflix.

Also, my network status is showing “NordLynx” and not “NordVPN”. What is this?

Yesterday it worked just fine, but this morning it did not. This occured when i tried to start my tvshow:

What is the problem with Netflix and NordVPN?

Nord has a helpful guide on basic troubleshooting steps for streaming services, you could try following that: https://support.nordvpn.com/1124781512 . If the steps don’t resolve the issue, simply contact Nord’s support, they should be able to help you.

My guess is this morning you happened to connect to a Nord VPN server that’s been blacklisted by Netflix. Try choosing another server and see if it works.

As far as Nordlynx, that’s the VPN protocol you’ve selected in Preferences (others are IKEv2 and OpenVPN). Nordlynx is the latest thing and is Nord’s implementation of Wireguard. It’s generally the fastest.

Ok, but i want the content on USA Netflix.

But i did empty my FF cache and then it worked.

Do i need to do this everytime?

I understand. When I said connect to another server I meant a US one. I still think you connected to a US server who’s IP has been blacklisted by Netflix and that’s why you got the message. Nord doesn’t publish a list of servers that should work with Netflix unfortunately, like they do with other sites like the BBC.

It makes sense that you needed to clear your browser cache/cookies because your failed attempt to connect was probably logged by Netflix. As long as you don’t get the error message again, then you should be ok not clearing things. I clear things out of my browser constantly because I don’t like being tracked (I actually use an app to automate the process).

It’s also possible that clearing your browser cache didn’t actually matter. It may be that you connected to a US Nord VPN server that hasn’t been blacklisted by Netflix.

The other person who commented gave you a link to troubleshooting steps so I would look at those and/or contact Nord (chat’s generally the fastest) if you continue to have problems.

You could try setting your browser to delete cache on exit.

Rigt, i have now set FF to clear all cache when i shut down the browser. Hopefully it will do the trick.

Done, i really hope it will do the trick. Tomorrow when i start my laptop i will know. I will get back with an update how it went.
