Anyone else not able to download FortiClient or FortiClientEMS from the support portal anymore? The support site has changed design-wise and we’re not able to download FortiClient / FortiClientEMS anymore (even though we have a license for it). I just discovered this change today, not sure when it was implemented.
Shouldn’t FortiClient be available for all FortiGate licensed customers?
We’ll be testing it. Looks like they finally added an option to use an external browser when using SAML auth, which is required when using Conditional Access policies. (Bug ID# 973544)
I’m testing it. Hope it fixes the secure DNS issues I have been experiencing with previous versions (this bug was supposedly fixed in 7.2.4 but for some reason it wasn’t entirely fixed).
Any have issues upgrading EMS from 7.2.4 to 7.2.5? The upgrade hung for me (installer ran for 12+ hours) and support told me to kill the process and restart the server, 7.2.4 is no longer installed and 7.2.5 still hangs forever while trying to install. Waiting for further response from Fortinet support…
Ooohh… Need to go get it before they pull it down again.
ETA: For those not bothering to read the release notes… this is apparently the bug that was fixed in the re-release:
1070788 The VPN controller daemon (fortivpn) may query the IPsec daemon for connection status before the IPSec connection starts. When this happens, fortivpn erroneously may stop the IPsec connection attempt.
Yes I’ve just noticed that and find it extremely wrong considering we pay for FortiOS. I’ve sent an email to our territory manager and account manager. I would suggest anyone affected do that. Maybe we can get them to reverse course on that poor decision.
Edit:
Got a hold of a CS rep who stated the new downloads page has some bugs they are working out. The Legacy page will remain until that has occurred. If you hold FortiOS licensing you should be able to continue downloading any FortiClient Standalone version n the portal.
