I don’t even have a Gemini account, nor did I know what it was. I got this same scam text at like 2 am and another at 3 pm the same day. I have no clue how they got my number though, unless someone had the same number previously and used it.

I’ve gotten two today, had no idea what it was even about. If I get a third I’ll edit with the site it linked but the past two I deleted and reported junk
Don’t click it. I just used my work computer to go to the link they texted me (twice now). The link takes you to a page with a “withdraw” button, once clicked, a QR code pops up, and they want you to scan the code with your crypto wallet. I don’t even know what Gemini is, so I knew it was horse shet.
I don’t even have an account with this company and I keep getting the scam texts saying my balance is ready to be withdrawn. How did they get my info?

How tf do they have everyone’s number for this? As someone else said, there is 100% a data leak, and tbh I don’t even know what Gemini is or when I signed up lmao

if you read the actual Gemini updates it says that Gemini will never reach out via text, only email… so obviously this is a scam.
D’oh! Just sent in a message to Gemini through their site about these texts. Should have checked here first.
It’s Scam to steal your information. Glad you didn’t open it. I have been getting the same text for the past few days. We have to be very skeptical about anything now-a-days! Stay safe!

I just want to throw this out there as helpful advice for some, a lot of you may already do this and are way more knowledgeable than I ever could be. Just hoping to point people who may not know in the right direction.
I’m no senior security advisor but do have experience in tech. I recommend taking some sort of free phishing prevention class. There are plenty out there that are real educational.
I would also recommend using a well reviewed anti-virus on your Pc and your phone. I personally use Avira it’s easy to set up and is very user friendly. Offers a lot of tools to help protect yourself. It has a free version, but limited. I do pay for mine, and it’s worth it. Phantom VPN is a really decent VPN, password manager, file shredding, etc. all great tools.
Make sure you change your passwords.

This is a scam the website is fake once you try to pick a wallet and login with your email they will steal your master phrases by having access to your email account and access all your coins these are Master foreign hackers.
