I use Slate AX 1800 and Brume 2 for my VPN Client/ VPN Server setup, and Brume 2 (server) is at my friends house.
My friend today said that he might change his apartment due to some plumbing leak issues.
Can we re-do the setup while the travel router ( Slate AX ) is with me ?
If he re-generated the text file and sent it to me so I can drag-drop it when I create my new WireGuard VPN Client setup, would that work ?
There is nothing to change VPN-wise, really. You just need to make sure that Brume 2 is accessible from the new location to the internet.
Also, while the connection works, install on both routers and your laptop ZeroTier so you can access Brume remotely if needed. It’s not for VPN, but for being able to access the admin page. It works behind NATs

Yes… you’ll need to set a fixed DHCP IP reservation and port forward 51820 UDP again on the new modem. No changes needed on the router itself.
Assuming you are using a DDNS enabled wireguard profile, the DDNS address should update itself to the new public IP within 10 minutes of being connected at the new location.
So I just need to re-do the port forwarding and I’m good to go ?
