I’m not super knowledgeable on VPN config/setups but was wondering a simple way to mask my IP to a specific location using a router - so that all I have to do is be on the wifi and any device connected to the wifi would automatically mask to the set VPN.
Is this possible to do without any major setup or config? Any recommendations on routers/software?
See if your router supports vpn to your specific vpn service configuration
If I have your question right, you want a router vpn instead of device vpn. I just did the same.
I have a tplink deco mesh array with a xe75 as my main. I bought a Gl.inet slate ax which has wire guard vpn capabilities. I subscribed to Mullvard and configured router with it and i changed my deco xe75 from router to access point.
Once you start using VPN, expect some small issues given sites and streaming services not liking that they are locked out of your info. For example, my Google tv and their corresponding apps (Netflix, paramount+, acorn) don’t always like vpn and will stop streaming. I am still working on being able to bypass vpn based on IP. Haven’t mastered the config yet, but close.
