Dumb question but how do I know if my IP is masked and I’m not leaking?
If I google what is my IP it does show me the VPN IP. And I have Killswitch on. But I’m just paranoid because I’m getting near perfect speed on torrents while connected to a out of country server and I’ve never seen that before. Granted I didn’t use a paid VPN until Now but do I have anything to worry about?
Seems too fast lol. As if I’m using a direct connection
If google (and PIA’s website header) tells you you’re good, the only other thing to check is DNS leaks and IPV6 leaks.
I often max my home internet on (linux torrents through PIA as well.
All these folks complaining about speeds in this sub seem to have gigabit connections, or are running into the ~150Mb/s performance cap in Windows’ TUN/TAP interface.
The best place to ensure your IP is being masked is our website - it has an IP checker near the very top of the page. If your VPN service is working properly, the notice will show in green text the IP you’re connected to and that you’re protected.
I would skip asking Google search what your IP is… I’ve noticed it tends to show what I assume is cached data sometimes. It will show my external IP when I am in fact on my VPN.
