I have fixed it:
Instead of sharing for “Surfshark Data Channel Offload” connection as mentioned in the link, I have started the sharing for “SurfsharkWireGuard”. Everything else is the same.
Hi, since setting up a Windows VPN hotspot can be tricky sometimes, we would need more information to investigate your situation better.
Could you get in touch with our support team at [email protected] or by joining live chats on our website?
Hi u/JacobDoesLife
The tutorial linked in your post only applies to network cards that support the hotspot/sharing feature. Most modern cards don’t support it. For Windows 10/11, the best option for creating a VPN-protected Wi-Fi Hotspot is by using the Wiresock VPN client:
- Download the Wireguard connection config file for the Surfshark server that you want to connect to.
- Download the Wiresock VPN client.
- Follow these instructions to configure the VPN connection to the Surfshark VPN server.
- Configure Wiresock in Service Mode (not Application Mode) or else the Wi-Fi Hotspot traffic will not be protected by the VPN.
- Open the Windows Services panel (Start → Run → type “services.msc”) and confirm that the Wiresock VPN client service is running.
- Enable the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature in Windows 11 OS Settings.
- Connect your other devices to the new hotspot.
- Enjoy!
