How do you watch F1 TV on a TV?

Tell me about your TV setups. Bonus points if you also have a VPN. So far the slickest/neatest setup I have tried has been using DeX from my Samsung phone conencted to the TV.

I find it so bizarre that a service called F1 TV doesn’t have any official smart TV apps.

The apps are coming. They said in the first half of the season, so probably in a year or two.

Apple TV running the unofficial F1TV app works like a dream until they release an official app.

I finally caved in and bought a Roku and I was up and running in minutes. I should have done this two moths ago.
I’ve had a fire stick for a long time and I’ve been waiting for an official app but I got tired of waiting for an F1 sponsor to have an F1 app. (What a crazy idea!)
Long story short it works great. I cut the cord this week and enjoyed my first weekend of just using F1TV to watch the races and for me it went great and I look forward to future weekends.
Sure there was a technical issue with the audio so we didn’t have sky sports commentary until after the red flag but all in all for me, it was a great experience.

No advice for a VPN though sorry. I’m in Canada and f1TV is available here.

Casting it to my chromecast from my phone.

PC connected directly to TV, w/ RaceControl app for lagless streams

On my Philips Android TV using this unofficial App: https://github.com/leonardoxh/race-control-tv

As far as I know you don’t need a VPN to watch.
I have subscribed via an VPN (Mexico I think it was) through my Android Phone via inApp purchase.
I’m now watching everywhere with German commentary from Germany

F1 TV Viewer app on Chromecast with Google TV that works perfectly fine every race.

I use a laptop and connect it via HDMI.

Using F1Viewer (until I can update F1Hub).

No VPN, because why would you? My experience is that you can’t stream with a VPN but that you can stream without a VPN, no matter the location

I don’t. Because I quit F1 TV. Because of this specific issue.

They’ve been promising smart TV apps for three years. So far they’ve only delivered an app for Roku. I’m not interested in paying for broken promises and/or incompetence.

I’m shocked by how few people answered “HDMI cable”.

Am I missing out on something?

F1 TV Pro running on my PC in Google Chrome and then Chromecasting it to my Android TV. Simple

I use Nord VPN and run it on my laptop through HDMI to my screen. I was using the F1TV site at the start of the year and it worked… sometimes. Very glitchy and tried lots of different little Tweeks but never got a whole race weekend or even a full race for that matter fully problem free.

After 5/6 races there must have been an update on the F1TV site and I ran into problems using my VPN. Basically if i try log in while the VPN was active it would cause an error and if i log in without the von it wouldn’t show the live content.

So I downloaded the Race Control app for windows after seeing it on here. Never looked back. Props to the creator it’s excellent and easy to use and no issues running it with VPNs. It takes a bit of setting up so don’t try get it running T-15 to lights out like i tried to do the first time (although my laptop is old and slow and shitty so everything takes a long time).

Without buying a stick or whatever your other options are if u have a PC I’d say it’s the most reliable especially if running a VPN.

I might try come up with a more elegant solution next year but works great for now

Nvidia shield (any android tv will do) with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.leonardoxh.f1&hl=en\_US&gl=US

MacBook Pro connected via HDMI to the television running a VPN. I used a chromecast with iPad and iPhone as well but from some GPs casting doesn’t work anymore.

I have an old laptop plugged into the HDMI to the tv and I play F1 TV on the laptop through a browser

F1TV app on RokuTV

No need for a VPN or complex setups, just use the official smart tv apps that you claim doesn’t exist.

VPN is old tech… Use Smartdnsproxy…

VPN is old tech… Use Smartdnsproxy

They announced the F1TV Pro app for Android TV and Amazon Fire TV earlier in the year, I have one of each and am still waiting …
