Curious, did they ever try BYOD? My school had a BYOD policy and it was really great for me. Allowed me to use my own device with an operating system and software I was comfortable and efficient with.
If they did, I guess a few bad eggs can ruin it for everyone.
Not all states the same
The issue really came down to Mac OS. We had students who refused to use anything but apple products and there were issues with their files opening. I mean an 80 year old English teacher is exactly going to be tech savvy enough to switch a file to a .doc file for windows.
We also had issues with students using VPNs to use the schools Wi-Fi for less than educational purposes if you are catching my drift.
