I can’t find free VPN in opera gx setting

If you are on the desktop, go to Settings and use the search tool for VPN.

A big question though, given that Opera GX is multi-platform, why haven’t you given your platform?

If you have EMS you should be able to export the logs from the client.

Chances are, either:

  • They have 3Mb upload and their spouse just got home and pushed all of their photos to iCloud, saturating their upload and causing packet drops leading to disconnect.
  • Their router was built in 2008 and they only have 2.4GHz wifi. And are at the fringes of their range. And in-between is the fridge, the microwave, a 2.4 cordless landline. Also they have wifi security cameras and doorbells.
  • Both.

WFH experience depends heavily on wifi performance, upload capacity, etc. And yet cable companies still get to claim 3Mbps upload as “high-speed”. And also they have complete monopolies on towns and apartment complexes.

I have also tried proton VPN, but After more than a month of paying the indicated fee for renewing my subscription – as an indicated option (bank transfer) - Proton is engaging in fraudulent invoicing, systematically increasing the amount to pay, from 51.15€ to 146.24€. In a latest message they flatly refuse to activate my account or reimburse my payment.
This is a brazen imposture and fraud, violating their own general terms, drowning in false and contradictory statements.

search vpn in settings

Ctrl+Shift+N brings you into private mode where you can enable the free vpn.

If you use Opera GX and if you found no vpn settings, **DO NOT** even think about enabling it in the extension store, not only will you end up unable to revert the settings in the extension webpage once you reload (since the vpn is enabled and cannot be configured), you’ll end up resetting your browser (and you won’t be able to revert it without resetting the browser).

And for those of you who DID enable the VPN extension and want to revert the settings, AND you just happen to have reloaded the webpage for some reason, do this:

Open the browser settings and scroll to the bottom and reset your browser by clicking on “Restore settings to their original defaults”. This will revert the settings and mods, and also deletes cookies. And with this, you’ll be able to surf the web normally again.

Therefore, I strongly advise everyone who sees this NOT to enable the built in Opera VPN if your settings doesn’t even show one (even before and after you install the said extension). **DO NOT ENABLE THE OPERA VPN FOR OPERA GX**
