You can learn about the proxy software commonly used by Chinese people, they basically all have this function.
I’d hate to break it to you, but the only way to get rid of YouTube ads is getting YouTube premium. Some time ago, I clicked on a video over 30 times until it actually played without an ad. If that wasn’t infuriating enough, it played the exact same ad over 30 times in a row.
Youtube premium is the only official answer. You might get somewhere with Newpipe, but I think that was recently removed from the google play store not so long ago back.
VPNs can’t effect what’s shown to you within an iOS app outside of localization, that’s not how that works. What you’re asking for isn’t possible.

I use Wireguard that tunnels back home to my PiHole dns, and that one blocks adds. Simple.
You could use YouTube premium.
Not joking, I ditched all the crap used VPN to buy a dirt cheap yearly subscription in another country and be fucking done with it.
i use the safari browser extention adblock plus and have the youtube app itself uninstalled, and only browse youtube through safari

No one VPN can’t help you. In my case CheatVPN + SELECTED MODE for YouTube app will help you to choose a region with less ads.
Nothing you can do with an adblocker only the html extension for safari which will prevent your ads.
A VPN does not block ads. A VPN only changes what your IP address appears as online and nothing more. You need an ad blocker which you can’t have on the native YouTube app.
Your options are to 1) jailbreak your iPhone and get a tweaked version of YouTube with an ad blocker, 2) buy a Raspberry Pi and setup Pi Hole and your entire internet connection will have an integrated ad blocker. or 3) Watch YouTube in a browser with an ad block extension.

Use a turkish VPN and just buy premium. It’ll be a few bucks only. Like 2$ a month or so. No need to use fancy apps to bypass stuff anymore.
