Subscribe to a trustworthy provider, download their app or config, bind your torrent client if you’re torrenting.
At its most basic level, a VPN is like call forwarding. Instead of the Internet coming to your house it goes to somebody else’s house and then they forward it to you. It’s handy for hiding who you are and what you’re doing.
At the next level of VPN also encrypt your traffic so that nobody can tap the lines and see what you’re doing.
So, in both cases, they are safe to use and usually worthwhile. You just have to trust your VPN provider.
One downside is that sometimes they can slow down your Internet.
On the upside, I can convince the Internet that I’m in England… And watch content that is only available in England .

Pick a reputable VPN……stay away from Bob’s VPN (that’s a joke BTW)
What odd is I see a vpn by “Mobile Jump Pte Ltd” And apparently people enjoy it so much it’s rated number 10 on best free apps. That alone sounds sketchy because it claims that free users get access to 25+ servers instantly, very sketchy to me and I still am looking at the vpn chart someone made on here and I still don’t know which to choose

I would stay away from them. People are cheap with their protection and glob on to free this or that.
