I don’t know if I’ll want to use Dashlane in 6 months, or even 1 month and my immediate instinctive reaction is to evade obvious traps so I’ll be cancelling my subscription immediately.
Why is the business model for these companies always 1.Create good viable product
2.Become well liked and used by customers
3.Realise that having a smooth successful operation is boring
4.Change something for no reason and tank ourselves into the ground.
I’ve been with them for nearly 5 years now - my first year would’ve been the year where I *might* have gone monthly, if I wasn’t entirely sure about them.
But I’ve been on annual plan since the beginning, and no plans to change because of this.
Don’t they have some kind of period in which you can cancel if you want to?
I think it s a bad strategy. How can you pay straight away for an annual subscription without even trying. And when I mean trying I don t talk about the 30 days refundable… Cause when it comes to password manager well it gets quite long to get all your favorite pass saved into it and for the pwd manager to become essential… I am an annual subscriber but definitely a bad call from dashlane here.
More disappointed at the misleading messaging rather than the change itself. It’s clearly not a streamlining change for the customer. I could understand this change being justified by the company needing to reduce credit card transaction fees, increase liquidity, or even improving customers’ perception of Dashlane… But not sure which it is.
Wait, I’m confused, I don’t see USA (United States of America, US, US of A, or any variation) in the list of affected countries. Is the US keeping monthly then?
I’ll be gone too, the monthly was affordable but there is much better out there, time to decide on a new password manager, which still has a windows app
As a Dashlane user, I’m disappointed to hear about the switch to annual subscriptions only. While I understand the benefits of annual plans for some users, it’s important to offer flexibility to customers who prefer monthly subscriptions or have varying financial circumstances. Having the option to choose between monthly and annual plans allows for greater accessibility and affordability for a diverse range of users. I hope Dashlane will reconsider this decision and continue to offer both monthly and annual subscription options to better accommodate the needs of all customers.
Weird announcement but I’ve been paying monthly for a long time and just realized I’ll save about 20 bucks a year and can cancel my other VPN subscription
I’m so angry that they made this decision. I’ve been a long time Dashlane subscriber and went from monthly to annual. However, my situation has recently changed and I am unable to afford this annual payment. I really hate when companies make changes that don’t really benefit users. This change in no way benefits users of the software and is specifically a company facing change no matter how they word it. (more upfront annual payments = more revenue). I was fine when they went from the desktop version that I loved so much to the finnicky browser only version, I was ok when the support changed to their chatbot rabbit hole situation, but this one takes the cake and now I’ll have to change to what I feel are less capable options(lastpass and a few other data breaches) because of this change. Thanks Dashlane for making my choices for me…
