In your opinion, what is the best VPN and why?
I use Mullvad and honestly don’t have enough good things to say about it. https://mullvad.net/en/features/
Run a VPS and host your own VPN… Easy and takes less then 5 mins to setup.
Here is a good script for it.

Windscribe has worked flawlessly for me since I bought a lifetime subscription a few years ago.
If you’re looking for a VPN service to stay more secure with your privacy, you shouldn’t go with a free one. You have to pay. I can’t recommend one, because every VPN service has it’s own methods. You have to pick the one which fits the most.
I think protonvpn is very good(hard to determine best unless your focusing on a certain aspect e.g. best in security or fastest speed etc). Seen many people recommend it
I like Nord. They’ve been great so far.
So it depends on what you are most interested in. The obvious ones that many people recommend are typically for torrenting such as PIA. Personally I use PIA and I haven’t had any issues with it. It is fast enough that I can game on it, and it works across all my devices while also being decently cheap. That being said if you aren’t torrenting and all you want is a VPN to encrypt traffic at a coffee shop then you could always look into setting up your own OpenVPN server that you can connect to. Personally I run one so that I can remotely access my server and manage virtual machines and watch plex.
There are a few suggestions here to roll your own, which has advantages such as being free and giving 100% certainty on logging practices and the like. This can be ideal if your only goal is to maintain privacy when on public or otherwise untrusted networks. Some hacker at LocalCoffeeShop or OffBrandMotel won’t be able to make sense of any of your packets and your sensitive/sketchy browsing remains private.
If your goal is to keep your online activity private from your ISP or your government/law enforcement (like if you live under an oppressive regime or maybe you’re just torrenting copyrighted material) then rolling your own server is not going to help you. All your traffic is still coming out wherever your server connects to the Internet. Which is probably your house. Where the bill has your name on it. And from the server to the Internet, it is just regular ol’ traffic.
This is where a commercial VPN service is what you need. You want that traffic encrypted until it’s far away from you and anything associated with your identity. With a commercial VPN service (even a free one), your traffic is coming out of someone else’s server with their name on the bill and (presumably) no way to connect it to you.
I’ll tell you that I use Nord VPN and that I’m happy with it for my own use. I have sufficient trust in their policies and have yet to see anything to make me feel otherwise. It’s the best for me. But this isn’t necessarily an endorsement of Nord in particular. Someone else posted a comparison chart and I recommend that you look it over and decide which one will best fit your needs.
In my opinion, the best VPN if you don’t want to spend any money would be Avira Phantom. However if you don’t care about the cost I would highly recommend NordVPN.
Nordvpn, accepts XMR as payment which is basically the most secure and untraceable crypto currency, is hosted in Panama, does not log, has a nice UI and is super easy to setup
Opinions doesnt mater. Look at the facts and what you want out of a VPN for what price https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/
I use vpn.ac. Because it is really fast for me. De apps are awesome, for ios and osx. They also have a browser plugin for browsing, which comes in handy on the game pc. I also really like the honesty about their service and the support is quick to help with issues. It is worth the money.
PIA, they’ve had instances where they were required by law to hand over logs but they couldn’t even if they wanted to because they didn’t store logs,
Anonine
I’m using it and I’m fine )
I use the vpninja, I like the support
There’s witeguard but not sure if how good is it.
Get a free subscription to AWS and configure a VPN, I was paying $3 during the first year
