Is anyone else having constant disconnects?

Ever since I updated mullvad to 2023.1 I’ve been having constant disconnects that last about 10 to 15 seconds and then everything is fine. 2023.2 didn’t fix the problem like I was hoping.

Yes, same issue here. On two different PCs running Linux. The logs aren’t helpful either.

I’m having a similar issue. Also, it seems to switch VPN endpoints on its own too, which is annoying.

I am having the same issue, and it is driving me nuts. I am running the latest version 2023.2 on Windows 10 22H2.

What servers are you experiencing the problems from?

For me, it happens in Secaucus, NJ, and New York, NY. Honestly, I am unsure if this is my network or the VPN issue.

Edit: Uninstalling Mullvad, rebooting, and installing Mullvad may have fixed the issue.

So still no actual solution for the problem?

Haven’t been having any issues on my multiple laptops, or nor my server. There isn’t much to look at Mullvad log wise on the server, but it does run 24/7 and is ran with a kill switch engaged, so I can look at it’s logs and look for connection drops. Haven’t had a single moment of downtime in the past 2 weeks.

Yes, I am connecting to AUS and NZ servers which is having constant disconnection. Although this happens when I turned on Lockdown mode. It may not be related to one another but when I disable it, the frequency also have dropped.

It’s horrible I cancelled my account and went to Express VPN

This issue has started again. Makes the service unusable.

On Fedora, everything works without any problems. I’m using Wireguard.

I’ve been getting random packet loss and disconnects for about 3-5 month but I connect to Mullvad through my router over OpenVPN. I’m leaning towards a server issue.

For the first couple of years I was using Mullvad I rarely if ever had these issues. I’m probably wrong but think maybe they are growing faster then what their servers can handle.

Now that you mention it yeah, I think I updated my mullvad sometime last week.

Since then, I’ve only noticed one or two seemingly random disconnects, but it usually autoreconnects straight away.

Yea, also getting disconnects but I’ve noticed it’s only on the newer wg-x servers. Oddly enough their older locationnum-wireguard servers are offline for my region

OpenVPN servers seem ok

I am cancelling my Wireguard account. I have used Nord and Torguard before (Actually my accounds there are currently active), they both work perfectly. I really like Mullvad but the constant disconnects are ridiculous.

u/mullvadnew what is going on with your service?

I wonder if it’s the server we’re connecting to or maybe just the entire vpn?

I’m currently using the virgina and nc servers, but i’ve tested multiple states and the same problem happens, so i don’t think it’s a server issue more of a software issue

Me too! Thank god it’s not just me.

I updated mine to the most recent version. It’s currently at 2023.5 and the problem is fixed for me. Try changing between wireguard or open vpn and see if it stops or not, or try connecting to a different server.

are you using wiregaurd or openvpn?

that’s strange im also using wireguard but on windows 11 and i disconnect about every hour or so, it last about 10-15 seconds.
