Is it safe to use non-vpn related services from VPN provider?

Hello!
I have an interesting case that I faced recently while traveling in Turkey.
So basically I started using proton VPN as my first proton service around a year ago. Today I use their email and password manager everyday.
Some countries are known for their restrictions against VPN services and now I have an issue where I can’t connect to any proton related service with my current ISP. We’re still investigating the issue, but the overall problem forced me to think about safety of such relations between services that I use.
So basically imagine the situation when your provider blocks VPN and you’re losing access to your password manager, email, drive, calendar, etc.
There are definitely may be some smart IPs blacklist, but if nobody cares it may result in you losing all the necessary services for you.

What do you think about this?

All this may be not the case for those who don’t travel a lot, but losing an access even for a few days can be critical.

What do you mean? Can’t you connect to proton service where you live? Has your ISP blocked proton services or what is the problem?

Not sure if this works, but you could try changing your ISPs DNS servers to something else. ControlD, Quad9, etc. all have free resolvers available.

Proton has some issues working in my current region right now. Related or not to specific ISP, nobody shares the reasons with me. The main thing in this topic is that now I am not sure that it is good choice to use password manager from the company that can be blocked in region because of their VPN business.

Thanks, this was one of the things I did. Along with changing the router with fresh configuration. The Proton team already responded to my case and mentioned that this is a known issue for some users in Turkey and they’re working on it.
