Is mullvad still the best/one of the best VPNs even when not using it for torrenting? just for daily use, gaming, or web browsing?

These comments are hilarious LMAO

Yes, its fire and forget.

PIA is still the only one that can do reverse split tunneling.

Positively, fire and forget x5

Yes indeed. Fire and forget x2

For sure, fire and forget x3

Absolutely, fire and forget x4

Undeniably, fire and forget x7

If you’re going to go to sites that block VPN (streaming, first and foremost), you’re screwed using Mullvad.

It only works on Windows 10 and up. I was quite sad to see it not work on my windows 7 laptop. The options they gave for wireguard and openVPN didn’t work.

But I’m an outlier. Most use Windows 10 these days it seems.

I do get some issues with latency when playing games, but other than that it’s great.

All house going through Mullvad (Wire guard)

So Fire and forget x 6

Are yall gaming on VPNs? Are you rerouting your game traffic around the VPN? I heard Steam will ban you, as it’s in the TnC to not use a VPN or something? I think the main concern is people changing locations to get regional deals, but I’ve just not done it at all bc I don’t wanna get my account banned.

AFAIK Steam WILL ban you for using a VPN though

edit: ty for the info

I’m a little late to the party here, but so far I’ve been using Proton for a bit now, and I’m loving it.

Yes, fire and forget.

Do you have problems with various websites loading or websites loading like ass randomly?

Some websites like several banks flat out block me or never send a response when I’m in mullvad. Do you have this issue/expected?

In addition, I’ll be on my phone on Amazon/Instagram app or something and all of a sudden no pages load at all. Like it will load part of the page or become some painfully slow that it just won’t work. Disable the VPN and it goes back to working.

I would say this happens about once every day or 2 days it’s on. The reliability of it seems very sporadic at best.

How has PIA been since they were bought out some time back? I remember it was one of the best services available, and then there was an outrage after the parent purchasing company had a sketchy past that people were concerned about deeply.

How’s PIA been working for you with streaming? Have you tried circumventing region locks with it? I used to be with PIA, but had several issues. The only one I can remember right now was that it didn’t work for Netflix. I think it didn’t work at all, even if I was on a server in my local country, so I assume nearly all PIA IPs were blocked. Do you know if that’s changed? Reverse tunneling sounds super useful, and I’m just at the end of my Mullvad subscription.

Isn’t this the same for all VPN providers?
