I was wondering how safe Nord VPN is - as in: Is there any risks of it dropping out and programs running using my normal IP/Internet? And is there any way to check if all outgoing connections are being made through the IP of the VPN?
I know you can check whatsmyip for browsers, but what about all other programs not using a browser?
Thank you so much in advance - I tried googling my questions but couldn’t find much apart from the Killswitch Function of the VPN. The split tunneling function seemed to malfunction once (suddenly not working, even after re-installing etc.) so I really need to know if at least the connection is stable and/or if the Killswitch function is reliable.
as long as you’ve got your system kill switch enabled it’s pretty much foolproof. overnight torrenting and hours of illegal streaming are my proof. Never recieved a single notice from my ISP and they’re one of the most strict ISPs out there when it comes to torrenting and illegal stuff

Yes. I typically experience this happening due to Nord randomly and unexpectedly logging me out without notice and without killing the internet. So I’ll be browsing for a while without realizing my VPN wasn’t active.
This doesn’t happen too often on macOS, but on iOS wooooo it’s really bad.
Maybe one way to mitigate against this is to configure your firewall to only allow internet through the VPN adapter, but that goes way above my head. On macOS this is probably done with pf, on Windows I have no idea.
The app on the firestick once leaked my ip when torrenting a “legal file”.
nord only failed me once on my ios while on pornhub 
other than that it hasnt let me down on lunix or windows

Ooof, that’s not ideal. I want to use it on a machine running Windows, so I might look further into that option - wasn’t even aware that’s possible, would definitely be what I’m looking for, though!
Yeah, someone else commented that it wasn’t working as expected on ios, fingers crossed though that it stays reliable on Windows!!
