Hi just want to know if using vpn such as nord can get me to play the game on japan servers without getting banned. Currently thinking of buying a year of vpn service just for this game. Im from SEA and i dont want to wait for the global release as i know i would be getting 300 ping from NA or EU servers so my only option is playing it on japan.
I’ve been playing with nordvpn for a long while and works just fine.
It was never viable for longer than a few days at best and still isn’t

I actually just purchased nord to play and didn’t have any issues connecting to a Japanese ip and playing all day
I’d personally advise against VPN’s IMO. At least Well known ones because you will get caught with those. I’ve been playing without a VPN for a few months now and am perfectly fine. I only used a VPN to create a bandai account and that is literally it. If you do want to try your hand at VPN’s though I’d say use Windscribe.
Yeah, sadly they didn’t want use foreigner to play their game. Was enjoying the grind and didn’t have to pay anything, definitely will play again once global release.
Seconding this, I’ve been playing since launch using nordvpn.
I’ve played on VPN since launch day and still log in occasionally (not often, there isn’t much to do) and it has been fine.
I used it for two weeks without getting detected. I had a “secret” method of playing lmao.
So i use vpn for accessing the site only to register then after that i dont use vpn to play?
Same, and I got banned twice both times after a week. I can even read and understand Japanese so there’s no way of them knowing

Wow. My bet is that they just don’t care anymore about people from outside of JP playing.

Personally what my thinking going in was (I’ve done this with Chinese live service games.) that using a VPN to create an account then not using a VPN to play makes it seem that you originate from the country but you are just out of the country currently. Even with a dedicated VPN, Bandai can easily just ping the location of multiple VPN users and see that it all goes to same geographical location and just ban em all and normal VPNs constantly change so it’s easy to get banned with that.
are VPNs against TOS?
If a JP player concerned with privacy uses a VPN all the time to play would they too be banned?
