Hello
due to the country I live in, I have to use a VPN to use voice chat on discord, but if I use a VPN with DCS, it wont let me connect to a server or even show me any servers to join in the first place. split tunnelling doesn’t seem to be working either (im using NordVPN if that makes any difference)
any suggestions that don’t involve me having to use a different software for voice chat?
Use vpn extension in chrome to connect to discord Web. This way dcs not going through vpn
Have you tied any other VPNs? Out of curiosity, which country are you in and which country are you tunnelling to?
Log out of DCS and then log back in with the VPN on?
Not as of yet (don’t want to spend extra money if I don’t have to), and I live in the UAE. I typically connect to Israel, mainly just because it’s the closest server to me, but I also tried Germany, England, India, and the USA.
You could do a free trial of a different VPN and see if that helps maybe, otherwise without network error logs etc, it may be pretty hard to diagnose.
If you eliminate discord or voice chat software from the equation, does DCS allow you to connect to a server using NordVPN?
I don’t think switching VPNs will necessarily help, because someone suggested that I try using cloudfare warp, it’s not technically a vpn, but it still doesn’t work with DCS
That being said, mabye split tunneling will work better in other VPNs. It’s known that the split tunneling for nordVPN just doesn’t work for some apps. Are there any specific ones you would recommend trying?
Also no, wether or not I am using a voice chat software does nothing in terms of allowing me to connect to multiplayer on DCS, the issue is only there when I am using a VPN
