Ivacy shutting down its indian servers
Still find it funny that it’s just the physical servers that are being cut, but you can still get an Indian ‘virtual’ server.
Governments everywhere are so out of touch with technology.
Never heard of this company, but smart move
same with tunnelbear
hell, only thing I know about Ivacy is that they seemed like a really good deal a couple years back, I bought a two year plan for like 80 bucks, and let’s just say I had to open a Paypal claim to get my money back in a timely manner
Just setup a server in near by country.
Then i guess we will have to find aanother way to India~

Hi! May I know how is ivacy in terms of streaming and speed? Is it good? Thanks
But the ping for virtual servers is dreadful.
yup, same thing with Crypto ban they did before, I mean I will just use a foreign sevice with Paypal.
They literally are total illiterates.
I on top of that why would an Indian living in India will use an Indian server anyways considering majority of VPN usage if to Unblock Regional Restrictions.
Just want control, which they can’t get cause they seem to not understand the technology.
Shhhh don’t tell them.
I mean I suspect it’s less a governments are outof touch thing and more of a governments can’t do shit internationally thing
You can’t get an Indian ‘virtual’ server, only an Indian IP address from a server hosted in Singapore.
indian
I am using touch vpn. is it safe ? to use in India
Same thing, it literally says a virtual server in the statement, you know what i meant.
no idea about it man, trusted VPN are big names like ExpressVPN, NordVPN, SurfsharkVPN, etc they have servers that are RAM ONLY, i.e. no HDD/SSD servers so they can’t have any logs, if any countries ask them to keep they just remove the server from those countries.
Even if police/officials raid these server and take control over them, they will get nothing.
But cheap/free VPN are not like these, they generally store data anyways, and infact their main income source is by selling that data, so even if the country has no such rule, these cheap VPNs might be doing it anyways.
Only time to worry about these big VPN companies is when their HOME COUNTRY passes such rules, for example expressVPN is based in BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS so if they pass such a law, then there will be some problems for users of that service, but these western nations take privacy seriously unlike ASIAN countries like India, China or Russia.
So I will always suggest to spend some more money and get good VPN (if you really need it) else you never know when police may come knocking your door for anything they don’t want you to see, like example you know PORN is banned in India, so even a normal porn site visit may get you in trouble.
