Just went viral and need advice. Going out of the country, should I take 3 week break or post on VPN and risk shadowban

I just had a vid go viral very recently, and my subsequent videos have been doing extremely well. I post 1-2 times a day.

However, I just went to Asia for a 2-3 week trip. I did a lot of research but wasn’t able to figure out what my best options is. Out of the following, what’s my best course of action?

  1. Ask a friend back in the US to post for me. Not sure if different new device will cause shadowban.

  2. Post here in Asia, but suffer a setback since my video will get pushed out to the wrong audience geographically.

  3. Use a VPN and post, but also might cause a shadow ban. Hopefully just the posting is what triggers a shadowban, since I’be already logged into my account with a VPN to respond to comments. (Any thoughts on this would be great too i.e. replying to comments but not posting videos)

  4. Don’t post at all until I’m back, approximately a 2.5 week break from posting

What’s unfortunate is I have 2 accounts that both gained this huge momentum just in the last month and this vacation seems like it’s gonna kill it :confused:

I’d still post, just got back from a 4 week trip in Europe and posted while there. My audience was still primarily US based and had some of my most viral videos in a long while during my time there. I think posts were going live at around 2 am pacific time. I wouldn’t worry about it too much

Go on the TikTok studio on a pc and schedule your post less risk using vpn on pc than phone

Don’t post. Taking a break and coming back can actually boost engagement by A-LOT because it shows that you are a human and not a bot.

Btw, if you have a SIM from the country you live, tik tok thinks you’re still in that country so you might be fine :gorilla:

I plan to visit Japan for a whole month and keep my pc on and control it remotely, not sure of a plan b yet in case it fails, but I rather not use a VPN.

Im on holiday rn. I had videos before to post and 2 days ago my video got 210k+ views still going up and my most famous video.

Perhaps a battle? Go live? If you’re going to not post, at least that way, your audience can have a look at your old live, which is basically “new content,” if that makes sense.

Out of curiosity what is your niche and how long have you been posting before you went viral?

You think even in Thailand the outcome would be similar? Maybe I’ll post once and see

Wish I would’ve known this before I left :sob: didn’t think I’d have any issues posting abroad until now when I’m actually here

Gotcha thank you. I’ve just seems other Reddit posts say when they stopped posting their viral videos stopped getting pushed out which is my biggest concern since it was getting me a lot of new folloeers

It sounds like the move worst case scenario is to just suck it up and post without a vpn

Have 2 accounts, one I clip streamers with lots of editing and the other is a dog account :sweat_smile:started at the same time, both took about 2 weeks of 1-2x a day, and every video improved in some way (I.e. maintaining retention, thinking of ideas, and reviewing old vids to see what went wrong/what I could’ve done better)

Definitely happened a lot quicker than I was expecting, but I’ve been studying good vs bad accounts and how to make good TikTok’s for a while now with some previously failed accounts and learning lessons along the way. Hope that helped!

I don’t see why it would change, a lot of these niche concerns on tiktok shouldn’t be a huge issue. Just grind your content as usual and things should be just fine!

I’m in Thailand currently. Made the account here as well. My videos get shown to a Dutch audience. You know why?

My sim-card is Dutch.

As long as you got your US sim in your phone, you’re gonna be fine.

Happened to me too when I vacationed to the UAE went viral got up to 5.4 mil views then just stopped like switch off on my account interactions
