Is the LINE messaging app still blocked in Oman? I arrived last night and haven’t been able to get messages unless I VPN. All I could find about it was a post from 9 years ago and figured things had changed since then. If so, really sucks because I’m here for several months but use LINE to communicate with a lot of people daily.
Yes I believe it’s blocked. But streaming services shouldn’t be. I know Netflix isn’t, for sure.
Netflix isn’t (although it looks likes it’s a bit of a different selection). But Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock, at a minimum, are all blocked (or “unavailable in this country”).
I haven’t used Line, but most probably it is blocked. Same with Whatsapp calling services, I just use VPN.
Interesting! I didn’t know about the other services.
Netflix’s shows are different in each region due to different factors. Unavailable in this country not because they are blocked by TRA but because the mother company has not expanded its services everywhere.
Anyway WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app here. I believe imo is not blocked for voice calls without the need to use a VPN.
Hmm. What VPN do you use? Just discovered also that most of my streaming services are also blocked, even when using my home VPN, particularly Disney+.
Yeah, I shouldn’t have said the streaming is blocked. It’s access restrictions from the services. But when it comes to the need for a vpn, it’s a similar issue as the communication apps so I lumped it together.
You can try expressVPN but it’s paid.
Yes clear
You will be fine, you will find a workaround
