The browser itself wasn’t terrible. There were a few issues that I could cherry-pick to make it sound like a terrible option, but overall it wasn’t even that bad. People are hating on it a little much in my opinion. Now I’m not going to say that it is the best browser that I have ever used. Just as a forewarning, I only ever used it on my laptop, and not on my PC, so there are a few areas I haven’t experienced and can’t review, those being; VPN, RAM controller thing, and how my games ran while Opera was also running. Anyway, to start out, it wasn’t slow at all, the built-in ad-blocker was alright. There were a few bugs on youtube specifically, and sometimes when I would click the X to close a tab it would take a few clicks to actually close (could have been my shitty laptop tho). I loved the design and customization that it offered, that was probably the best part. It was also very easy to convert everything from Chrome to Opera when I first downloaded it. The icons for my bookmarked sites never loaded and just appeared as a piece of paper. I’m never worried about companies selling my data, because everyone does it and there’s nothing you can do about it. Overall I would rate it 7/10. Decent browser with plenty of customization, but for reliability and effectiveness I don’t see it as being any better than Chrome.

If you’re talking about bookmarks that were imported, yes, that’s normal that their icons don’t load initially. But, the icon for a bookmark will show up the next time you visit the bookmarked site. It’s a cache thing. There’s a more-involved way of transferring/copying data from Chrome to Opera that my preserve the icons, but you can just think of it as delayed loading of the icons.
did your mousepad ever stop working when on opera?
i did notice that but some still never ended up changing and stayed as pieces of paper even after I visited them

just some of them that were on the start page. only a few ended up showing up after a while.
