New user needs iOS help

I started using Windscribe today on my iPhone and iPad. I have two questions:

  1. I whitelisted my home network following the instructions. I went out and used a different network that Windscribe immediately secured. When I came home and checked, Windscribe also secured my home network again. Doesn’t it remember that I whitelisted it from before?

  2. Windscribe seems to be working on my iPhone. It turned itself on while I was on another network. However, on my iPhone, settings, vpn says not connected. When I go to next page to turn it on, I have two listings: personal vpn which is not connected, and Windscribe that has a check mark…when I try to turn on personal vpn, I’m asked for authentication information. Do I even need to turn this on? On my iPad, I have the same thing but the iPad vpn toggle works. I should mention that on the phone, Windscribe type is ikev2 but server is 0.0.0.0 and there is no account information listed but it is on the iPad.

Somehow the appropriate info like account and server did not get entered in the phone even though I allowed Windscribe to add vpn connections. Do I need to logout on my iPad for it to work on my iPhone?

I’m just confused as to what to do. Any help is appreciated

Follow up: logged out on my iPad. Deleted and reinstalled the app on my iPhone. Allowed vpn configuration. Same problems

Don’t use the VPN settings in the iOS settings app. It’s confusing. Just use the windscribe app from the app store. If you want to quickly are if your on VPN or not, swipe down to open the control center. It will say VPN in a tiny box at the top next to the wifi icon if you are.

You can be logged on to your account from your iPad and iPhone at the same time.

I also have tons of problems with the iOS app. Behavior like you’re describing, and also random ssl errors and sometimes complete disruption of internet on my phone (including the inability to toggle windscribe) where the only fix is to go into iOS settings and toggle the vpn on. Sometimes there are 2 VPNs listed in iOS setting like you note, and sometimes there’s just one. All these symptoms change frequency and when they occur across different connection types. Sometimes they go away for a period of days only to come back and happen every hour. I have no idea what’s going on.

Support is helpful but I just don’t have the time to troubleshoot the app for them indefinitely for a variety of issues. However, support is the route I would suggest if you really want a solution.
