Hello, I have recently downloaded forticlient to access work cloud server, but ever since the download, some of the games i play (LOL, Valorant) has a high ping (originally 10ms, 200ms after the app install). But either I use office wifi or use the Forticlient VPN at home, the ping goes normal. Is there a way to keep my ping back to normal without turning on the Forticlient?
You meant the ping is high while you’re connected with forticlient? Than it’s probabaly not a split tunnel and you’re playing through the vpn and not through your local break out. Other than that forticlient should not have any impact on your internet traffic.
Is it the FortiClient EMS version or free version. If it’s EMS version there is not much you can do without talking your IT guys.
Your traffic is being tunneled via your work. Probably shouldn’t be connected while you aren’t working anyway!
If it’s not one you can choose (EMS) then ask your IT.
FYI this sub is for Admins who work on fortinet kit, not so much end users. You should just chat to your workplace IT if you aren’t it.
when i am not connected to the VPN the ping is high but when i connect to the VPN then my ping drops to normal

I need to turn on the Forticlient VPN in order to get the steady ping. Without the VPN the ping goes crazy
Never heard of forticlient impacting latency towards Internet when not connected.
