I installed VPN extension, and in Firefox I did change that network.trr.mode setting in the about:config to both 3 and 5, but no luck. Basically it times out if I try to access any of the website. Same thing in Edge. I’m not really sure what’s going on? I have tried this on multiple computers with no luck. What am I missing here?
AFAIK Firefox Extension doesn’t work when the network.trr.mode is set to 3.
A workaround should be to use FF in a private window, there DNS shouldn’t leak.
It’s been messing up this weekend. I connect fine but some servers just don’t work. No pages load. I try another city or two and it works and pages are loading. Maybe they are having issues. The apps work fine for entire Pc, but the browser extension has been acting up recently.
Can you let us know what version of the Proton VPN browser extension you currently have installed?
Also, what version of your browsers are you running exactly?
Are you using any other VPN, proxy, or custom DNS services/extensions?
Have you disabled DoH in your browsers?
What is the exact error message you’re receiving?

The only way I could get it to work was to go to 3. I think the latest FF update reset that to 5, which never worked for me. I previously set it to 0 which worked a treat, but I guess it was reset with the update.
Had issues with the Linux app on Sunday. Kept disconnecting on several servers in different countries. Windows app worked fine, though.
