Where do you live? I have been using xbox for the past 14 years from Tunisia without a single issue.
You can just change your location
What about vpn? Does that bypass it? I don’t know much about that stuff anymore but you be able to connect your Xbox to your VPN server to whatever country you want. Internet speeds will take a hit obviously but ya.
Can you get games through VPNs on a different device?
East europe, we had opportunity to connect to Turkey or Argentina now they’ve blocked them unable to buy anything in the store.
Just the gamepass access for now. Russia is also bocked.
Yes it’s mostly for them, but the rest as they have a normal or similar price like US it’s working, for example we used turkey and Argentina, now we are using Colombia or Mexico as it’s a couple bucks below US price and it’s working fine. (no xbox store here too)
Many regions are financially way worse than “cheap regions”, my country has lower average salary than Turkey but need to pay US/GLOBAL PRICES NOW, which makes this hobby luxury for many. They will get way less money this way. I am back to only GamePass games now because it’s just to expensive to buy anything.
If anything they’d wanna stop you from playing a game early.
What is the way around?
“Yes creating a new account”, i couldn’t bypass it changing my geolocation & using nordvpn idk what way they’re checking the location
I call BS. I was able to add currency by redeeming a code but once I went to spend it I wasn’t able to checkout.
you can pay in the us store with a card from ph?
Already got a ps5, im paying 5€ more than on xbox but Inhave a decent service, quality of the product and a whole different gaming experience with the dual sense controller. A lot better game optimization.
Sadly xbox for me is not worth the money to spend. It was a cheaper gaming option for the poor, but now they’ve touched the limit by directly blocking players from having fun.
Thanks phill spencer
Except they aren’t, you really think this hurts Microsoft lmao they can still buy Sony and nintendo with pocket change.
It doesn’t work for most people. Microsoft has «blocked» the purchase for such accounts in general, so even changing the region does not help.
In theory, you can create a new account in the US, buy games expensively and for a full price tag. They do not block such methods, because they still get a lot of money from it, unlike Turkey or Argentina (although new products cost almost the same there). There is no official store = pay the full price. Microsoft was very upset by this.
No. Just tried multiple VPNs. You should still be able to redeem codes though as I did it yesterday.
You are fine till you aren’t
Thats crazy, blocking a market because its cheaper than others countries! This is so wrong especially for poor countries that cannot really afford much.
Cant wait for 30 September so I can decide to throw my xbox and get something else.
last few weeks microsoft have been fiddling, so at the moment Turkey, Arg and someone else is blocked online and on console
