Has anyone else gotten this message when using the web version of ig? If so, what can I do about it? On the tab at the top it comes up with “instagram scraping warning challenge page.” I don’t have anything connected to my account, I’ve done nothing to warrant a restriction, I literally just use ig to scroll thru news, videos, friends etc.
Once you click “OK” it returns to instagram as normal. It only happens a couple times a day but its quite concerning if my account can be restricted for no reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated :). I use 2fa, have changed passwords, checked connected apps etc.
Edit: For those coming to this with the same issue, I believe its just a bug and will go away on its own after a couple weeks. I stopped getting it after about a month and haven’t got it since.
yo I had this warning page too today, I don’t have any accounts linked, don’t do automated behaviour, never clicked any spam bot links, and just use Instagram normally. Just changed my PW and added a 2FA. Instagram seems normal after clicking OK. I’m worried I might get false-flagged again leading an account suspension. I hope this is just a bug that will be addressed soon.
I have the same!! and i havent been hacked or anything :c its my first time writing on reddit too lol thats how concerned i was about this message i keep getting that message and im scared of lossing my account for something i didnt do
I’m suddenly having this issue too with Threads on desktop. I don’t really understand how it could even be getting false positives like this. So weird.
I’ve received this two days in a row now. Also, last week my IG profile was suspended. I appealed it and they re-enabled it, but I’m concerned about suspension again (and the account is for my business).
I’ve also updated my password two or three times in recent months.
Just curious, is anyone that’s getting this using a network / IP privacy service like a VPN, iCloud+ Private Relay, 1.1.1.1 DNS, etc? I’m wondering if IG is mistakenly drawing conclusions based on shared IPs etc from these services.
Im having this issue and like you I use it just for nothing. A family member at the same property on a different account was banned for downloading their own photos lol but that wasnt my account or me. So no idea if it looks at a shared ISP as that be illegal.
Ahh is this still happening for anyone? Mine is super annoying because it seems to end up in some kind of loop where I get the warning and then the page automatically refreshes and then i get the warning again which triggers a refresh and then that just continues over and over until i just close the tab. clicking “ok” doesn’t do anything for me and I’m nervous to keep trying because it’s happening so many times that I’m worried I’ll get actually flagged and get my account banned. for context, I don’t have anything weird installed nor am i doing anything suspicious at all with my instagram, I have no idea why I get this on web 99% of the time that I try
I moved from my home town to some halfway house that shares a wifi between 300 people (probably 50 have a laptop). IG was fine the first day the next day I checked my 5 tabs they got that same error. Nothing like this happens at a college dorm or work wifi…
Ill will update this once I find a solution…the beauty of sobriety lol.
That’s exactly what I did, I turned on 2fa and changed passwords but I’m still getting it. And knowing how awful instagrams help support is, I’m really hoping it doesn’t end up in a suspension cause at that point its just gone.
I kept looking for a while after I made the post and I haven’t found anything other than people saying they also have the same issue. I really hope it gets fixed or at least told to us that it’s just a visual bug and not actually doing anything bad.
