Sell me on Malwarebytes

Honestly, right now I’m fine with my current AV and VPN, but I’ve been eyeing Malwarebytes as an AIO solution for AV and VPN services because everywhere I look, people are saying their VPN uses Mullvad servers to run, so it’s essentially just reskinned Mullvad.

I’ve used Panda AD and Watchguard VPN previously in the professional setting, but the Panda AD admin console left a lot to be desired, and I wasn’t a fan of building and configuring VPN profiles for Watchguard.

Years ago I was pleased with Kaspersky, but being in the US, obviously Kaspersky is off the table.

So, basically, sell me on Malwarebytes. Why should I make the swap and why you use it/like it over other options.

Edit to add: I have a son who is right about the age where he’s going to start accessing the 18+ section, even if I try to block the content. So those sketchy sites will be in the mix at some point.

If you’re using a VPN for privacy, keep in mind we are a no log VPN. We never track, store, or share any of your network data. Hopefully that’s helpful in your decision making process!

I recommended MB for years but there’s issues in Firefox and possibly Chrome and if you have to disable it to do your job I guess I don’t need it. Firefox is wrecked and I’m not the only one to notice. The fix is disable browser guard and check if that helps, btw.

NordVPN is my go to VPN, malwarebytes has been good to me for over 10 years but I have had to remove it from a few machines lately. I hope you get some good answers here.

Nord isn’t even on my radar. Their past practices have forever tainted their reputation in my eyes.

If you have any feedback on how we can improve our product or provide a better experience, I’d appreciate the opportunity to hear your story. Thanks!

Why? They are actually one of the only big VPN companies that has a no logs policy and uses independent audits to prove it.

The browser extensions have been consuming excessive resources. Whatever updates in the past 6-8 weeks have locked up my browsers (edge, chrome). The initial scan on power up locks up the laptop. Things improved after removal. Been an extremely long time user and it’s never been like this.

They also used a cheapest bidder host, which didn’t properly configure a server, which led to a breach, which they sat on the knowledge of for six months and didn’t confirm it happened until it was trending on Twitter.

Breaches happen, no service is perfect, but concealing knowledge of a breach for roughly six months is not okay with me.

I have your back on this brother. Their browser guard jumped the shark and seems time to dump the shark. Hear this MB we are no longer happy having to disable this protection I’m paying for to enable basic browser functionality. This is bullshit and shall not pass.
