I don’t have enough to renew my VPN but I wanna watch a show that’s available on archive.org. I’m just not sure if it’s okay to directly download from said site. So I was just curious. I don’t think it’s torrents. In fact some files are mkv and mp4s.
I don’t have enough to renew my VPN
Just curious: what would you do if we told you “Yes, you definitely should use a VPN for this”?
Personally I can’t think of a reason why you should. Or why I would. But using a VPN is very much a personal preference. Would you use a VPN to watch YouTube?
Put foil over your computer while downloading
That’s literally what the archive is for.
So I don’t need a VPN? I was just curious because I was paranoid. Just wanted to see if they had EVA

You do not need one for archive.org, but if you want one anyhow, Firefox has a free plug-in called TouchVPN. It works great.
I do not know the reasons for your paranoia, but despite the lawsuit (https://blog.archive.org/2023/08/17/what-the-hachette-v-internet-archive-decision-means-for-our-library/) brought upon them, archive.org is a pretty trustworthy institute.
They are there, but you shouldn’t use them. Nothing is free, they have to make their money somehow.
TouchVPN huh ? I thought most free VPNS were bogus but I’ll see about this
It’s moreso because I saw that they were easy to download but they were mkv files so it’s probably okay.
It’s not bogus, but since I wrote that I’ve seen a review that says it’s not all that secure. NordVPN you pay for, but is recommended along with ExpressVPN.
