Feel like the cheapest alternative is ESPN+, but do blackout rules apply where I can’t watch games since I live in Queens? From the fine print it feels like yes, but wanna confirm…I really hate optimum right now

I have Xfinity which hasn’t carried MSG for years due to a similar dispute, and i get blacked out of Rangers games on NHL/ESPN/etc aside from national broadcasts (TNT)
There’s no legal television subscription option for me to watch rangers/Knicks games despite living in the NY metro area and having had MSG for decades previously. None. Crazy.
For those searching, the only option through fubo is $80 per month.
Or paying for the literal worst app ever in gotham for $30 per month or 250 for the year purely for one team.

The other option is espn+ for whatever it costs or disney bundle which is like $20 per month but you will need to add a vpn which is $18 per month or $150 if you lock in for 1 year, or $215 if you want to lock in for 2 years.

Yeah if you live in NY/NJ espn+ games will all be blacked out unless it’s on Hulu and espn +. You can buy NordVPN and use that to change your location and watch espn+ games that way I’ve heard from sources that works pretty easily. Idk if I can say that here but 
I can’t watch shit on ESPN+ for the most part, and I’m across the other river from Manhattan. Last season, I was watching the replays of the games that they won the next day while I worked. Like, how stupid is that? This streaming shit is bullshit, and I’m not changing all the hardware in my house to verizon because ten bucks says I’ll do that and MSG will be taken off of that next.
It’s really just too hard to be a Rangers fan. I’ll catch any highlights on insta.

ESPN+ with VPN is my solution since Xfinity lost MSG a couple years ago. But also can’t anyone here just pay for Gotham app? You don’t need a TV subscription with MAG to use it as far as I know.
Yea local games are blacked out on ESPN+ lucky I’m not a Blues fan.

So I’m an Old timer seeking advice. Been following the Rangers since 1965 with no issues watching them at really any point since we’ve been f***** by optimum, what is the recommendation as the alternative? Again, I’m not a technology wizard by any means. Really don’t even know what you guys are talking about as far as Gotham and fubo, but live and learn I guess

DirecTV Stream and Fubo have MSG if you don’t mind dumping your TV plan with Optimum. You would have to keep your cable for internet only.
