I was finally able to solve this very weird problem (post link) and wanted to share with you how I did it.
Open MyASUS, if you do not have it installed, open Windows Store, search MyASUS then Click install.
Navigate to the “Software Update” section from the sidebar.
Click the “Drivers & Tools” and look for “Armoury Crate Service”, “Armoury Crate UWP” and “ROG Live Service Package”.
Install each of the drivers while respecting the order above.
This should be it! Armoury Crate should now be installed on your system again. Hope this helped you fix it!
Final notes
I think the issue is happening because RogLiveService.exe is failing to send to receive data from the server. The ArmoryLogService shows that “GetJson” “returned” a 404 not found error. I think the issue might reside in this URL: https://rog-live-service.asus.com/. Though, I’m unsure about this.
If its any help : on a fresh install, open windows store and if you are logged in simply update all apps. Then after that has finished, you can run the installer no problems.
(the error btw is that the URL for the newer motherboards / aura systems settings is not in the old version of the app!)
Note: Before installing , download asus armoury crate uninstallation tool and run it to uninstall / delete temp files or previous files which may be there in your program file in C drive , So that you can have a Clean Installation.
Note : I’ve a Asus TUF A15 2020 Model with Ryzen 7 4800H with integrated Radeon Graphic and Nvidia 1650ti laptop , I was having issue with Armoury Crate not able to install update , So I decided to uninstall it and then re-install fresh from the asus website , but official asus webiste’s Armoury Crate install tool isn’t installing it in my laptop, after trying again and again for more than 8 times , I decided to look it up online and found reddit post but this also didn’t work for me. Then I decided to look it in MyAsus app driver section which leads to official website for more driver software , there I looked and found Armoury crate.
Here’s the Solution
1> Go to the official Asus webiste as per your region and then signin your registered account or search on google asus product registration and then signup your account with your gmail.
2> Now register your product with serial number and date of purchase ( for not already registered users )
3> In the support section , scroll down to the software and utilities section and click on show more
4> Now download the ArmouryCrate & Aura Creator software
I have been dealing with this for a while without a solution.
I finally found a setting in bios under tools ->Asus Armoury crate → Disable/Enable
Tool tip “This item allows you to enable Armoury Crate download process. Armoury crate app can help you manage and download the latest ROG drivers and utilities update for your motherboard”
So I finally got rid of armoury crate running an installtion file everytime I boot windows.
Apparently is fetches the installation file from the internet/asus server.
It ran the installtion file EVERY time a boot into windows, even though I had the latest armoury crate installed.
I wasn’t able to resolve it with this, but I was able to fix it with this. It’s been 4yrs so I’m guessing the issue has evolved. I went into the BIOS and disabled automatic update of Armoury Crate. Here’s a link on how to do that.
I resolved my issue with crate by uninstalling nord vpn and reinstalling
There was some update for nord vpn recently and i noticed application errors after that
Asus crate was totally scuffed and Battlenet would not connect and was using 98% of a ryzen 5950x cpu while i was connected to nord vpn
Disconnecting from the vpn resolved most of the issues
They all seemed related to app updates also so while disconected from the vpn i was able to update the apps but reconecting the vpn caused them to immediately glitch again
Uninstalling the vpn rebooting and reinstalling the vpn seems to have resolved whatever network issues were causing these glitches
I found that going to customer support on the app then scrolling down to the Utilities section you can install a driver called ASUS AI Suite 3. This has lighting control as an install option.
I’ll update here once I get it all setup and let you know if it works out
This is driving me nuts for a week already, Armoury Crate installer hangs on “Installing ROG Live Service” and I have no other way of controlling lights on STRIX 3090, I refuse to live with rainbow colors on it.
u/yak0d3 thanks for this info, I hope it helps someone.
