I’m a long term Surfshark user and I have been having the application on and running on my mobile devices for years. I received a message today because, apparently, my data ran out. Had a check, and Surfshark data consumption has been increasing this year to very high levels, from 50MB in Jan to 6.86GB in Apr. I’ve never seen anything like it.
I am in the same place since January, with the same habits, the same Wi-Fi. I did notice that the servers I normally use got slow and unusable, even on my Windows application, so I’ve changed since. This was earlier in April. Help appreciated.
Hi, if you are connected to Surfshark, all of your internet traffic will be encrypted and routed through the Surfshark app, so all the internet usage will be reflected on the Surfshark app, as well as the apps that use mobile data.
For example, if you use 1 GB while listening to Spotify and 1 GB while browsing the internet, it will be shown that Spotify and your Internet browser have used 1 GB each, but it will also be shown that Surfshark has used 2 GB.
Hopefully, this has helped you to understand how this mobile data usage is calculated.
