Yes ( but only on your phone ), make sure to exclude the app from battery Optimization else your phone kills it in the background or when it likes.

Thanks for the advice. Does that mean adding SurfShark to “Never Sleeping apps”? If so, I don’t see SurfShark in the apps list.

It’s called different for any phone brand and sometimes even between android versions.

But this sounds right for me it’s called “battery optimisation” and even got 4 stages ( kill in background, kill after 10 min background, reduce background activity, no optimisation)

In my case I would choose " no optimisation" so my phone wouldn’t touch the vpn app and likely disconnect it.
