I had USG3, recently upgraded to UCG Ultra (identical configuration). I have UCG configured for L2TP VPN server and client connects perfectly (as it did on USG3). I have a ping keep alive (1 packet every min), to keep the VPN connection alive (video application). On USG3, this configuration could last for weeks (until the ISP glitched). However, on the Ultra the VPN connection is terminated at exactly 60mins. The session is re-established automatically but 45s later, which impacts the video application significantly. Is there a way to keep VPN alive permanently ?

I have a similar issue, on both UX and UCG-Ultra, I setup OpenVPN Client connections. There seems to be software issue which makes Internet connectivity unstable, when Client VPN Connections are turned on. The connections may reconnect every minute or so and the Internet experience is heavily impacted until I turn of the connections.
I setup on openvpn on the ultra and the remote connection remained up for more than 60 mins. So to me this is clearly a bug on l2tp. Trouble is i can’t use openvpn in practice due to limitations on the remote tp- link router not being able to use policy routing when using openvpn or wireguard.
I have actually disabled l2tp on my ultra and use docker image for l2tp service , that has remained stable for last few days BUT i have very limited visibility of connection status. So ideally need Ultra issue to be fixed.
