Unable to Purchase Express VPN

My subscription to Nord VPN ended recently and I’ve been looking to switch due to some problems I’ve had with it. Mainly that the split tunneling function never seemed to work. I’ve heard good things about Express VPN so I’ve tried switching to this.

Every time I try to purchase a subscription online I just get the error message “Sorry, but something went wrong. Try again later”. I tried different browsers, connections, and cards and none of this works. I don’t have another device to try with. I tried using their site’s chat, but I’m unable to connect to it about 90% of the time. I finally get through and they say they’ll put in a ticket with the billing department. After 2 weeks, I finally get an email from the billing department and it’s just a short message with a link that says to use the link to make a purchase. Clicking the link takes me to the exact same page I’ve been using and it continues to give me the exact same error.

Has anyone experienced similar issue and/or know what I should do at this point?

If you are going to run it on an Apple products don’t. Ever since their last updates I been having problems with Evpn. It blocks native apps from apple. Blocks legitimate sites like Rogers.ca, Reddit, TD bank. Have tried to fix with customer service but no change in performance.

Have you tried a different browser on your device, or tried to visit their site on a different device?

Yes, last week tried to purchase Black Friday sale for 2 years VPN using my Axis Bank Privilege Credit Card, which I use everytime apart from my other 2 Credit Cards and same issue I got. Raised a ticket got a reply that your card is flagged. Today I purchased Nord VPN using the same card and it was accepted within the seconds. Express VPN is just a hype but nothing else. Their customer service is total waste.

same here. ‘Something went wrong’ Tried dif browsers , cards and email adds, nothing helps. Non existent customer support too.

Are you in a restricted country or using a card from a country they don’t support?

Had the same issue, but what fixed it is using a completely new email address with my old payment method.

I am having the SAME issue yesterday/today (12/21-12/22). I have numerous payment cards and email addresses I’ve tried - and I’ve tried on my laptop / phone / desktop PC and they all get this same message. As you’ve pointed out, their customer service is non-existent or they just blame it on a payment card issue.

I signed up for an ExpressVPN account with no issue just a few weeks ago. I cancelled during trial as I wanted to try them out for a NFL game and I accomplished that. Now, I actually want to be an ongoing paying customer of ExpressVPN and they won’t let me sign back up… it’s infuriating.

It is and I’ve found customer support to be curt and rude too. Yes I’m getting frustrated, but if you’re not competent enough to accept customers literally trying to hand you their money what kind of company are you? Sticking with Mullvad , even though it’s slow and unreliable these days. Least I can pay for it when I need it, and its anonymous. Get’s grating with how many sites (looking at you reddit) blanket ban it.

To me it suggests reddit does not the right to privacy. You must be in the VPN ‘conglomerate’ or you’re not a legit business which to me defeats the purpose of privacy from a VPN.
